It’s been a banner year for team human. Whatever side of the equation you find yourself on, it’s been a singular challenge, and an ongoing struggle to reconcile endless confusion and contradictions. The time has never been so ripe for massive, positive change, yet it is also a time of intense contrast, saturated with a palpable emptiness.
You might think it’s possible to live in the past, or the future. But right now is all you get. So long as you agree with the linear way of things, that’s how it has to be.
It’s very hard work to maintain the illusion. You’ll work a labor job, or office job, build a business that someone else taught you about in a book or seminar, or buy and sell real estate — all of which is designed around building material security and the traditional means by which our world still operates to this day. What you’re also readily aware of, is that all of these external gains and acquisitions can be taken from you at any moment. It happens all the time with fires, accidents, theft, market corrections and crashes, recessions, lawsuits, and any number of unpredictable economic conditions.
In every moment we are given the ability and the responsibility to choose to do the right thing… or not. What is “right” is a divine, unattached, momentary locus of you-plus-universal intelligence — not simply what might be culturally or socially acceptable or expected, not what your family, or elders, or peers would expect, not anything but the pure and blessed essential true-ness of this naked moment.
