“Your job is your side project.” A good perspective.
It’s a fairly common and repeating theme as we delve time and again into the creative life — or whatever we’re building, aspiring and moving toward — while we expend countless hours and energetic resources working a job to maintain a semblance of support for ourselves… and very likely a family.
From the moment our dreams first take shape in childhood, they are pure and untainted by the obstacles life later imposes — yet it is only by reconnecting with that original inspiration that we can truly climb the mountains we are meant to ascend.
Life is a journey, not just a destination. Yet, we often get distracted by battles that drain our creative energy. When we focus on our deeper desires and take small, inspired steps daily, the process itself transforms us. It’s not about hustling or waiting for motivation — it’s about showing up with presence, passion, and play.
We often limit ourselves by defining what we want too narrowly, forgetting that the true essence of our desires lies not in their specifics, but in the feeling they promise to bring.
