There’s something curious about being invited to leave social media by an ad on social media. Another platform, another promise of real connection, and presumably another set of boundaries we’ll discover when we run into them. I understand the impulse. We’ve spent years complaining about these places while filling them with our lives. But before we settle into another room, I’d like to know who gets to decide what we’re allowed to say in it.
