There are moments when another person’s choices expose something in us that we would rather not examine. Their willingness to risk, commit, uproot, rebuild, and begin again can become an uncomfortable mirror — not because we should imitate them, but because their movement reminds us of where we have remained still.

We rarely speak as freely as we think we do. Beneath our words sits a quiet negotiation between what is true, what is permitted, and what is rewarded. Over time, that negotiation begins to shape not only how we communicate, but who we become when we do.
Delete every social media app. Do it now. Nothing I’ve written herein will change your mind, because you must make the decision to take responsibility for your mental and emotional well-being. Social media, on the other hand, consistently provides the polar opposite. Reason it out. Uninstall Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Snapchat, Telegram, YouTube, and all the other apps from your “smart” phone, remove the ridiculous “smart” watch, and wait a week to see what happens.
We’re alive during a pivotal, epochal time and space in this civilization’s history. We are setting the precedent for this a future generations — in all aspects and areas of life in this reality. Everything is shaking up, being tested, exposed and challenged, and necessarily so. Outright psychopathy and psychosis are on display in the highest offices of the land, on every screen, on the covers of every magazine. It’s there for you to see, if you’re ready.
The stories we live by in a society, and as a civilization, are a cross-pollination of narratives, derived from age-old belief systems, traditions, rituals, religions and literature, tempered and adapted organically by modern epistemology, pedagogy, philosophy, cultural context and the purely experiential. There’s an inherent, and perhaps predictable narrowing, or reduction, of the “allowable” within these structures. And because of an inevitable tendency toward identity and ideology, our struggles individually and socially arise as and when this unconscious mechanism is either unwittingly or deliberately used against us.
