Life doesn’t ask permission or wait for us to be ready. It unfolds in stillness and upheaval, tenderness and destruction, beginnings and endings. We can’t control the whole of it, but we can choose how fully we meet it.
We spend so much of our lives chasing stimulation, absorbing other people’s narratives, and trying to keep up that we can lose touch with the quiet knowing beneath it all. The world is full of noise, but the deeper problem may be how readily we surrender our attention to it. Somewhere beyond the distraction lies a more authentic way of seeing, living, and relating to one another.
Most of us will go through life on a fairly predictable trajectory. It would take a concerted effort to live outside of the established parameters of what came before, doubly so because we learn most my modeling, training, and educating by the same means and influences.
