We’re all part of this grand play, and it’s in the moments of stillness that I see how the smallest shifts carry the most profound meaning.
* * *
When I step back from the doing and simply observe, the set pieces take shape, the players move confidently through etheric rehearsal, and the song nearly sings itself.
This grand play requires the full depth of me, yet the tighter I try to grasp the handle, the looser my grip.
The play, in its entirety, is the thing — not just one prop, one set, one mistake, one missed or blessed moment, but all of them together.
Nothing has meaning except the meaning we give it. Yet, it is meaningless without the richness of every iota of living and breathing that preceded it. To discount, deny, or disregard any part of our extraordinary journey is to shortchange the heartfelt gratitude we seek to engender when we are in joyful ease and hard-won presence.
We may appear to age, to grow, to progress, and to achieve; we may believe life will continue with or without us, but try to imagine non-existence… My words are nothing without you.
“Now” is the ever-changing, ever-forming locus of all that is, and it cares not for our attempts at logical or literal definition. All the maths, physics, and spirits inevitably return to one.
Through presence and authenticity, the flow is achieved — even if it’s intermittent. Self-judgment is moot. Let go, and let love permeate the hard places and fortify the soft.
We’re well into the second act, presumably. Bring up the lights. This upcoming scene is life-changing…
