We’ve built our world inside a tiny box. We call it progress — this civilization of economies, technologies, treaties, and trade. We’ve been sold the idea that it’s the whole of life, that it defines who we are, what we’re worth, and what we’re meant to do. But this box is not the whole world. It’s not even close.
* * *
Your country, your continent, the entirety of civilization under the current systems of economy, treaty, banking, trade, and technology — none of it is the whole world.
Sure, you can have the “world” at your fingertips through a smartphone. But you’re not really experiencing anything unless that 5-inch screen does it for you. If you do, you’re also enjoying eye strain, neck pain, and the illusion of connection.
The more you buy into the oppressive idea that life is defined by technology, commerce, money, mining, wars, progress, and plastic surgery, the more you cloud your judgment, adopt ignorance as truth, and get lost in the machine. You’ll end up buying useless things, believing politicians, suffering spiritual sabotage, and acting out as an adult child.
But here’s the truth: That which is most real — most true — is beyond words, beyond calculation, beyond all the things we try to control. If you think you know what love is, the very mention of it should stop you in your tracks. Love can’t be quantified, labeled, or packaged. It can’t be boxed with greeting cards, chocolates, or wrapped in plastic. We try, sure, but all that’s just our arrogance, an attempt to limit the infinite.
The world is so much bigger than the small box we’ve built for ourselves. The question is: What will you choose? You choose your diet, your education, your environment, your sources of information, and your selective cognitive subjugation. You choose your present, your future, and yes — your wounds. You choose to heal and to harm, again and again. You choose whether to be hardened by it all… or not.
This world is far more expansive, far richer, far more vibrant than anything we’re told. Go see it. Love it. Live it. Give it.
Die a thousand times to the old you. Put your hand into the fire, and recognize that, too, is you.
Eyes open.
Love your life.
