I am so powerful that I can use all the creative forces of this realm to make myself believe that I am small, weak, afraid, alone, and broken. I can also reclaim that power, always and in all ways, to liberate my self.
Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.
— James Allen – As a Man Thinketh
When you think about all of the hundreds of thousands of thoughts, ideas, and intentions that flow through you, your mind, and your waking consciousness in any single day, do you ever consider how instrumental you are in curtailing random and intrusive elements and aspects in all that noise? Are you aware of the spirals, traps, slips, and slides that propel you off and away from your path?
We live in an era rife with methods and means for capturing and coercing our hearts and minds into something contrived and artificial. It is exceedingly difficult not to become entangled in the web of extrinsic influences through all manner of media, devices, and technology, losing ourselves in a myriad of myths, make-believe, fiction, and narrative fabrication.
Whatever captures our gaze will undoubtedly capture our mind.
Are you easy about it if and when you catch yourself wandering again into the shadows or dipping your toe in the sticky mire, or do you pile on, beat yourself up, and hasten the gift of your power to the insatiable parasitic void?
We tend to be our own worst enemies, but we can also be our own best friends. It requires the most basic yet profound of things, of which you are already aware: conscious choice and an ongoing, persistent effort to discipline yourself; to become not only aware of the programs that reinforce a parasitic mind but to follow through with the entire process; to engage your higher faculties and deepest knowing as often as necessary to unhook, detach, and replace wayward energies in order to retrain and reclaim yourself from the inside out.
Every moment is a present, and the present is all that we have. All of the power exists right here, right now; we can change our trajectory in an instant, thereby influencing the greater informed field in our favor. The direction we take is determined by our willingness to listen to our true inner voice. But, most importantly, it is the voice derived from a pure and unworldly source, the impartial and omnipresent co-pilot, that does not judge you, nor does it pander, pretend, wax poetic, or betray.
