You Are Living Your Dream Life

We spend so much of our lives trying to arrive somewhere other than where we are. We measure the present against what we remember, what we expected, or what we imagine might yet come, rarely considering that nothing essential has gone missing in the meantime. Perhaps the invitation was never to perfect the circumstances of our lives, but to become present enough to recognize what has been unfolding through them all along.

.   .   .

You are living your dream life right now. Every aspect of it, every experience, every expression, every eventuality, is exactly as it is meant to be. It simply cannot be otherwise. If it feels wrong, misaligned, misconfigured, or otherwise inappropriate, it is due to some element of conscious or unconscious attachment. For most of us, it will be the latter.

You are attaching terms and conditions. You are attaching scarcity and lack. You are living primarily outside of time, fragmenting and projecting aspects of yourself into either the past or the future, attached to some emotionally charged event, idea, or, more likely, imagining.

Your presence is out of whack because your present, your now, is unacknowledged, unlived, and unembodied. You are dissociated, leaving yourself energetically, perhaps even spiritually, untethered. Not only are you getting in your own way, but you are tripping yourself up and sabotaging your process with every forced step, every strained decision, and every unscrutinized coercion through which you attempt to correct something that was never wrong, fill a gap that never existed, or make up for something that has never been missing.

Relying primarily on our emotional state and our most practiced and familiar mindset, we tend to paint everything as “wrong.” In doing so, we fail to comprehend the potential rightness already present in every heartbeat of our limited time here: the lesson, the learning, or the revealing opportunity before us in every second of a truly conscious life.

Yet consciousness here exists within a framework in which the greater reality of what you are beyond this place must, by necessity, slumber beneath a cloak of forgetting. Only then may you delve fully into the depths, the dichotomies, the conflicts, and the contrasts of life as we know it. That doesn’t make it a trap. It certainly doesn’t mean you were forced into it, either. Think bigger picture. Think cosmic and expansive, circling and spiraling, inhaling and exhaling.

This earthbound expression is a living dream. It is your dream. And just as the dreams that arise when you lay your head to rest at night are transient, so too is that which you experience when you believe yourself to be awake. To disparage or discount anything in your lived story — to reduce it to mere routine, the day-to-day, or something somehow “wrong” — is to miss the point of what it means to live fully into your human expression.
